Job description:
The LHCb group at the South China Normal University (SCNU) is inviting applications for a couple of postdoc positions that can be open immediately.
The SCNU group joined the LHCb experiment in June 2018, consists of three faculties, one Postdoc, two PhD students, and five master degree students. The group is interested in EW physics, Higgs physics, new physics searches, double parton scattering, and hadron spectrum searches, and heavy-ion physics. The group is also participating in the LHCb Phase II upgrade especially on the Zero Degree Calorimeter (ZDC).
Successful candidates:
mainly work on physics analysis and participate in the run 3 data taking.
will be based at SCNU in Guangzhou with frequent travels to CERN (depends on the Covid-19 situation).
are expected to have a PhD in Particle Physics or Nuclear Physics, with fluent English communication skills, and preferably under 35 years old. Candidates holding a PhD in theoretical Particle Physics or Nuclear Physics are also encouraged to apply if they wish to change to experimental HEP.
The positions are opened immediately for an initial period of 2 years, with a possible extension of 1 more year and a possible promotion to a tenure-track level position (please refer to: https://www.nature.com/naturecareers/employer/12036 ).
